How is the procedure?

  • ISTMedic, is your neutral partner and consultant, and contact in all matters.


  • Let us know what wishes and needs you have.

  • We will then tell you what information we need.

  • After we get this information, we will contact the clinics.

  • An approximate cost will be given after reviewing your information. Which also includes accommodation and your transport. We will be forwarding it to you.

  • To make the right choice, the decision is up to you. We are happy to guide you every time you need it.

  • When the choice is made, we will contact the clinic and look for a convenient date for both parties.

  • Once this process is completed, we can make all the necessary arrangements for you. You are free to book your flight, or our travel organization partner can do it instead of for you.

  • Before your trip begins, we will check again all the details and all the processes.

  • Upon arrival in Istanbul, the service staff from the clinic will pick you up to the hotel first.

  • Depends on your availability, the initial examinations will be started on the same or next day. Following these processes, the contract will be closed.

  • At any time in the clinic, there will be a professional translator who will assist you to answer your questions to avoid any misunderstandings.

  • After the preliminary talk and detailed explanation, you will be usually brought back to the hotel again.

  • On the day of the surgery, the translator will accompany you.

  • The decision when you can return to the hotel after the surgery falls to the doctor.

  • If you can leave the hotel and wish a supported program, we will gladly assist you.

  • If it is ensured by the doctor that you are airworthy and you can fly home without risk, you will be released.

  • The hospital will be again responsible for transportation to the airport.

  • At home, patients should follow the advice and instructions of the doctors.


  • We are still there for you after the return journey.

  • Your safety and well-being are our highest commandment.


What is the cost of my treatment?

Your treatment cost not only depends on what type of treatment you are willing to have but also the procedures, hospital and hotel choice and the season that you will have to go through during the treatment phase.

In terms of price, you will be informed about the general price level of the hospitals. If your doctors require extra tests regarding your treatment during your stay, the price will change accordingly.

What is the duration of my stay?

The duration of your stay depends on what type of operation you are willing to consider. 

What about the accommodation choices?

Depends on your hospital choice, the hospital will be ready to offer you some partner hotels to stay during your treatment with excluded prices.

And also, you are free to book another hotel by your self or you can stay with your friends/relatives in this case the hospital has the right to not to be responsible for your transfer.

Can I drive in Turkey?

Driving is on the right-hand side. Visitors can drive with their international driving license. If you choose to rent a car and drive in Turkey, you should have your driving license, passport and insurance documents of the vehicle.

Can I use my mobile phone and my country’s GSM operator in Turkey?

You can use your mobile phone in Turkey if your provider has enabled international roaming. The well known Gsm operators in Turkey are Turkcell and Vodafone. If you will stay in Turkey for a long time, maybe you should buy a local SIM card. Take your phone and passport to one of the Turkish mobile phone shops, they will register your new SIM card with your phone’s IMEI number and personal information.

Can Turkish people speak English?

English is the second spoken language in Turkey. Especially in Touristy places, you can easily find someone to speak English.

Are there any rules for dress in Turkey?

There is no rule. If you are on a beach holiday resort you can wear a comfortable dress. In the city, you can wear a T-shirt, shorts, trousers, blouse, skirts, etc. If you are visiting mosques, you should take off your shoes and women should cover their hair and bodies.

Is Turkey a safe country?

Turkey is one of the safest countries in the World within the Interpol ranking. Turkey is one of the safety holiday destinations. As the case when traveling in any country through, be careful with your personal items. You will find Turkish people and police officers helpful and friendly.

What is Turkey’s currency?

The local currency in Turkey is Turkish Lira (TL). Cash can be exchanged easily and without commission.

Turkish banknotes : 5,10,20,50,100,200 TL

Turkish coins: 5,10,25,50 kuruş and 1 TL

If I want to change the doctor or hospital?

You can request to change your doctor or hospital before signing the conclusion of the treatment contract in the clinic. In case you used hotel accommodation and transfer of hospital before you declare your change request the hospital or ISTMedic has the right to ask for the payment for used services.

How to calculate what my insurance covers?

Some health insurance companies also subsidize treatment abroad.

Once you have decided on a treatment, we can help you to find out if your health insurance is paying a part of it.

We are happy to do this work for you because we know the processes very well.
For this, we need your insurance policy information.

What about the flight, and hospital transfer?

Customers are free to book their own flights. If you need help, ISTMedic could suggest its external partners for booking flight tickets. If the customer will book his/her flight, the customer must inform his/her ISTMedic consultant about the date of the flight, the dates should be compatible with the hospital appointment and treatment process. Otherwise, ISTMedic accepts no responsibility. Transfer to the hotel and hospital will be arranged by the chosen hospital.

About travel insurance?

It makes sense to have travel insurance for cases like illness, cancellation, and lost luggage.
You can book these insurances with the airline ticket.

How can I pay?

The payment for the surgery will be made on-site in the clinic after the conclusion of the treatment contract. You can pay with a credit card, debit card and also cash.

How can I cancel?

You can cancel your hospital reservation before signing the conclusion of the treatment contract in the clinic. In case you used hotel accommodation and transfer of hospital before you declare your cancelation request the hospital or ISTMedic has the right to ask for the payment for used services.

If I will be lost?
